Technology & Connectivity Support Program

Program Purpose:
To bridge the digital divide by providing all individuals in our community aged 16 and older with the technology tools, skills, and connectivity needed to access opportunities, services, and resources essential for personal and professional growth.

Program Description:
In today’s world, access to technology isn’t a luxury—it’s a lifeline. The Advisory and Resource Center of Omaha offers technology and connectivity support to help everyone stay connected, informed, and moving forward. Services include device setup, troubleshooting, minor computer and phone repair, basic digital literacy training, and connections to low-cost internet and affordable devices.

Services Provided:

  • Device setup and basic troubleshooting for computers, smartphones, and tablets
  • Minor repairs on computers and phones (e.g., software fixes, battery replacements)
  • Digital literacy support such as navigating email, online applications, and video conferencing
  • Referral and connection to resources for affordable internet service and devices

Eligibility:

  • Open to all community members aged 16 and older regardless of income or employment status
  • Priority service access given to individuals aged 16+ enrolled in case management

Goals:

  • Increase access to reliable technology and internet connectivity for everyone in the community
  • Enhance digital skills to improve access to employment, education, and social support
  • Reduce technology-related barriers to self-sufficiency and community participation

Program Procedures:

  • Open intake and service access with priority scheduling for case management clients
  • Device setup, troubleshooting, and repair appointments available on a walk-in or scheduled basis
  • Digital literacy sessions offered individually or in small groups
  • Ongoing referral and follow-up support to help community members stay connected
